Fire Damage – Wantagh House

Fire damage at this Wantagh house began in the attic as an electrical fire. A junction box developed a short circuit which led to all of the pictured fire damage. There was fire damage to the electrical system, insulation, rafters, and kitchen. Water damage was also a part of the problem as the firefighting efforts involved water in extinguishing the fire. There was additional structural damage as the firefighters had to open up areas of the walls and ceiling to make sure there were no remaining burning embers. This made for a lot of debris that needed to be cleaned up and disposed of properly. The building elements such as insulation, rafters, and drywall would need to be replaced at the end of the project.
