Mold damage after a water loss was not treated

This picture shows what can happen after a water loss was not treated and led to significant mold damage. Mold damage is not only an inconvenience, but a health hazard to all occupants of the house. Typically, mold is not detected until it has spread significantly and requires professional clean up. Therefore, homeowners should assume mold can form after any water event. In addition to drying the structure, we had to remove all areas covered by the mold. The 'after' photo shows the room stripped down to the studs and sealed with an anti-microbial based sealant to prevent any future mold growth.
